Point Styles
Point styles in Earthlight are formed by defining colours, transparency and size to shape templates.
Edit Point Style window allows you to modify a symbol.
- Preview – this window shows the final effect of all changes. This is how the symbol will look on the map.
- Image – this is the shape template that is used in the style.
- Load – this option allows an upload of custom symbol templates. To load an image, please click on the 'Image:' section.
- Clear – removes the shape template and clears the Image window.
- Colour mode – this box has two options Normal (ignores your choices to the Override black with and Override white with colours) and Override (applies the chosen colours to the image). Only some of the symbols can have overridden colour – these have to have pure black or pure white colours used in the shape template.
- Units – this controls how the symbol will scale with the map. First three choices are screen units dependant. It means that these will not scale with the map and symbols will always be displayed of same size. The last choice – meters – is in ground units what means that it will scale with the map.
- Size – this box controls the size of the symbol.
