Join

Join tool allows users to create View in a database containing columns from both layers used in Join operation.

A View contains rows and columns just like a real table, but records cannot be edited.

Records contained in View will be updated when any of the layers used in Join operation is edited.

Create Join window contains 6 sections:

  1. Spatial layer – here users can choose a layer that will become base for Join operation. View in Database will contain only geometry from this layer.
  2. Attribute layer – second layer for our Join operation. View created by it will contain all attributes from that layer.
  3. Matching columns – allows user to select columns that will be merged by Join operation.
  4. Join layer name – name of layer reference in Repository
  5. Join VIEW name – name of VIEW in database.
  6. Join layer directory – path for our VIEW layer reference.
