Label Element


Available in PDF and Image templates.

Label placeholder can be created by selecting this command and clicking twice on the template to define the extents of the text control. The control will be shown with a yellow box with the word “Text” in the top left corner. If you click on element properties you can edit the text. Carriage returns are allowed which will create multi-line text. The text box can be resized by grabbing and dragging the yellow size handles (the small solid yellow boxes) with the mouse.

Label properties allow you to set text, border style,text font and alignment.

Label properties window contains 4 sections:

  1. Background Colour
    Here you can set a background colour of the Label element. To open a colour palette please click on the small field below the section name.


  2. Alignment
    In this section you can set the text alignment. You can select one of three options:

    • Left
    • Center
    • Right

  3. Border
    In this section you can configure the border of the Label element. Please click  Change button to open a Edit Line Style editor. In the Edit Line editor you can change the border colour, width and opacity.


  4. Font:
    The Font section allows you to edit the font of the text included in the Label element. To open Text Style Editor please click a Changebutton below the section name. In the Text Style Editor you can set:
    • Font size
    • Font name
    • Font style
    • Font colour
    • Enable/disable precise origin option. This option changes the precision of the text placement. Its mainly used for the SpaceMap layers.


Label is a specific placeholder since not only does it let you to place static text in your print layout but it also allows you to insert dynamic fields in the layout. You can read more about the Fields here: Field Editor
