How to classify records by numerical data and define style for individual intervals – ranges

  1. Open layer properties
  2. Go to Display query/ Ranges tab
  3. Select a numerical column which you want to use to create intervals and click Classify button to specify the properties.
  4. Classify window will appear. Please do the following steps:
    • Set classification method. Depending on the classification method, intervals will be calculated in different ways.
    • Choose the number of classes (size of intervals will be listed below "Intervals" label).
    • Click Apply button to accept the settings.

  5. All intervals will be listed in Ranges tab. You can now set a style for each interval by clicking the style preview.

    You can also apply a style for all elements by using palettes. To do so, please select all values by holding shift key on keyboard and clicking on first and last element and then use Style selected values section to configure and apply the palette.
  6. Click OK button to see the results on a map.
