Aoristic Chart

The Aoristic Chart tool is designed to check frequency of events (records) occurrences in selected span of time. Calculations are based on column which stores the event’s date. Afterward a chart is being generated which represents the event’s frequency by colours. A layer with a column that stores date/time of events is required.

The Aoristic Chart tool window contains 11 fields:

1. Layer
   In this field you can set a layer which contains the data that you want to display on chart. You can also check Limit to selection option to generate a chart for selected records only.
2. Start time column
   Here you have to set a column from the layer selected in 1st field. This layer must store date/time data.
3. End time column
   If you store the event end time in a separate column, you can set it here. This field is optional.
4. Column intervals
   
   This field allows you to set a column interval. You can select one from 5 interval types:
   • Hours
   • Weekdays
   • Weeks
   • Month days
   • Months

5. Row intervals
   
   This field allows you to set a row interval. You can select one from 5 interval types:
   • Hours
   • Weekdays
   • Weeks
   • Month days
   • Months

6. Show cell values 
   
   This option controls displaying of values in centre of cells.
   
7. Start date 
   Here you can set start date for generated chart. You can use a calendar tool to point an exact date. To open the calendar please click on a small icon on the right side.
   
8. End date 
   Here you can set end date for generated chart. You can use a calendar tool to point the exact date. To open the calendar please click on a small icon on the right side.
   
9. Palette 
   This field allows you to configure colours palette for generated chart. To select a different palette please click on the preview of existing one . You can also use additional buttons to Reverse, Lighten or Darken currently selected palette.
   
10. This field contains 3 buttons: 
    
    • Calculate – this button executes the Aoristic Chart tool. After few seconds you will see a newly generated chart in the preview field.
    • Save chart – this option becomes available when the new chart is generated. It allows you to save the chart on your hard drive as a PNG file.
    • Save legend – this option becomes available when the new chart is generated. It allows you to save a legend for generated chart on your hard drive as a PNG file.
    
11. Preview
    This field displays a preview of generated chart. Using Save chart button tool will generate PNG file with the same image.
