Snap – perpendicular to line
Similar to the parallel to line function, the perpendicular to line function works by selecting an element of geometry to run perpendicular to. In the example here, we are using the same piece of OS MasterMap line geometry to run perpendicular to as we did to run parallel to in the previous example.
The image above shows the geometry being extended by simply dragging the cursor, and in so doing extending the new geometry line as it creates a straight line running completely perpendicular to the selected MasterMap geometry feature element.
The image below shows the line being dragged further, but still running perpendicular to the selected OS geometry.
