TRO - Add Custom Street

It can happen that a street is not present on the list when you create a new restriction. Most commonly this happens because the street has only been recently added to LSG. In those cases you can add a street to the TRO yourself. You can do this when you’re working on restrictions. When you add a restriction and ned to assign a street to it, you’ll notice that underneath the list of available streets is a button called Add Street.

When you click this button, you’ll be asked to provide the name of the street. Locality and Town Name information will be inferred from other streets in this area. You can amend it if necessary.

Although you cannot draw the street’s geometry, TRO system will capture the extent of the map during the Save New Street operation to allow it to spatially locate the street. It is therefore important that when you are creating a new street, the map is showing the extent of the street.

Assuming that the custom street is represented by the purple dashed line in the middle of the map on the image above:

  • the map as seen on the image covers too much of the area and the street is off centre,

  • the viewport represented by the red square is too close and will require zooming out to check if there are any restrictions on the street

  • the optimal viewport is represented by the purple square as it tries to match as much as possible the extent of the street
