When creating new DocX page layout you can either choose to generate it in Earthlight and download it later for modifications or upload an already prepared MS Word docx document.
Similar to PDF/Image Page Layout properties window for DocX allows setting up custom scale denominators. In addition it is also responsible for upload and download of DocX page layout templates.
The easiest way to modify a page layout template for Earthlight purposes in MS Word is by downloading existing SampleDocX.PageLayout$ document from Earthlight using Page Layout Properties window.
To do so, Open SampleDocX page layout, click Layout Properties command and choose Download DocX document.
You can stretch any of the elements to any dimensions you want and place anywhere on the page. These placements will be replaced by Earthlight with appropriate data as shown on the example below:
In addition to IMAGE PLACEMENTS you can also use FIELDS to place results from table queries in the prints.
The SCALE field is replaced with the scale of the map.
RESULTS_START, RESULTS_HEADER, RESULTS_BODY and RESULTS_END fields are used by Earthlight to fill the space with query result similar to Result Box.
RESULTS_START, RESULTS_END fields are control fields for Earthlight to know that between these two fields there may be multiple lines of results. These fields must always enclose the RESULTS_HEADER and RESULTS_BODY fields.
The latter two are the ones that will actually present the results. They can be styled – you can change their font, size, make them bold or underlined, anything you want.RESULTS_HEADER is the field that will be replaced with the names of the column headers. The RESULTS_BODY will be multiplied as many times as many records there are to answer the query.
Please Note:
When saving your .DOCX template please make sure that the Show/Hide hidden formatting symbols is switched off.
