This tool creates a density map based on a vector layer data.

How to use Density Map tool

In order to utilise the Density Map tool please follow the steps below.

  1. Click the Density Map tool.
  2. Select the layer that will be a base layer for the density map generator.
  3. Set a radius of the influence zone for each record occurrence or allow Earthlight to estimate this based on the layer surface size.

 

  • Set a cell size or change the size to Automatic for Earthlight to estimate its size.
  • Once finished click Calculate to generate the Density Map raster layer.

  • Enter a name for this new layer and click OK.

The output raster layer can be styled using Gradient Editor. To change styling of this layer, please go to http://statmap.co.uk/?page_id=1207
