Each data layer is protected by the Shares tool. In this place you can control read/write sharing permissions of each folder or file in the repository. Earthlight is using a "Layer" permission model. It means that you can control layers permissions and these settings are propagated to maps. For example:
You can restrict a layer for certain user(s). If this layer is added to a map and the user will open it then he/she will see an access denied icon next to the layer name. The layer itself will be invisible/inaccessible for this certain user but map will open without a problem. This is a typical view of a layer with deny read setting:

Shares tool dialog window contains 4 sections:

  1. Select one or more users or user groups
In the first section you can select for which user(s) or group(s) you want to change the permissions. To select multiple users/groups please hold CTRL button while selecting.
  2. Folders and layers
In this section you can select for which folder/file you want to set the permissions.
  3. Set / Clear
The third section contains 2 sets of buttons: Set and Clear. These sets allows you to add/remove the permissions for the selected file/folder.
  4. Sharing permissions
