This tool creates a density map based on a vector layer data.
How to use Density Map tool
In order to utilise the Density Map tool please follow the steps below.
- Click the Density Map tool.
- Create a new density layer or update one that already exists.
- Select the layer that will be a base layer for the density map generator.
- Set a radius of the influence zone for each record occurrence or allow Earthlight to estimate this based on the layer surface size.
- 'Limit to selection' option allows you to use only selected records from the layer in creation process of density map.
- Set a cell size or change the size to Automatic for Earthlight to estimate its size.
- Once finished click Calculate to generate the Density Map raster layer.
- Enter a name for this new layer and click OK.
The output raster layer can be styled using Gradient Editor. To change styling of this layer, please go to http://statmap.co.uk/?page_id=1207
