This tool is used when a new layer is required. You must choose the geometry type for the particular layer (i.e. Polygon, Multi Polygon, Line, Point, Any Geometry). A layer can have mixed type geometries – Any Geometry type allows to store them.
A table name must be entered and fields can be added to store the layer’s business data. The type of field can be selected from the drop down menu.

Available types include:

  1. Integer – a field optimized to store integer values,
  2. Real – this field is designed to store real numbers,
  3. Text (up to 2000 characters) – this is a text field with a limit of 2000 characters,
  4. Memo -this type of field can store up to 8000 characters,
  5. Date – this field can store date and time.

Once you are happy with the design of the table, click Create layer table and you will be asked to choose where to save the layer and what its name should be.

When Earthlight is finished with creating the table and referencing it a confirmation window will pop up.
