What's New In Earthlight 2020

Here you can find a short description of functionalities introduced in the new Earthlight 2020.

 

Movable Labels

Users are now able to customize the position of the labels by selecting the Move Label tool from the Annotation tab and dragging the anchor position to the desired location.

 

Page Layouts list improvements

Page Layouts in Print and Save As Image tools are now searchable and the list of available layouts directories is displayed in a tree form.

 

Page Layout Legend element dynamic size

The size of the Page Layouts Legend element now scales dynamically in relation to the number of elements on the actual print.

 

Users search box

The search box has been added to the users list in the Users and Groups tool to make finding a specific user easy.

 

Users and Groups extended functionality

The Users and Groups tool now displays two additional columns containing users telephone number and e-mail address and the users list can now be easily exported as a plain text along with those columns content.

 

Metadata Export Script

Export Script Editor tool has been added to the Metadata tab allowing users to generate metadata export scripts and exporting metadata forms in accordance with the acceptable XML standards.

 

"About" tool in the map key

About tool provides quick and easy access to the basic metadata information for every layer.

 

The Help tool update

The Help tool providing quick redirection to the documentation site got completed with new tools and functionalities links

 

Label position improvement

The description of the label position in layer properties is now more accurate and user friendly.

 

Clustering

The concentration of records can now be displayed as clusters with configurable parameters using the Clustering functionality of layer properties.

 

Georeferencing PDF's

The Georeference tool now also supports the PDF format.

 

Gismos

New functionality has been added to the layer properties expressions dedicated for Earthlight Public called Gismos. Gismos provides a simple way of adding an image, chart, or Google StreetView element to the Earthlight Public instance.

 

Map coordinates window extended functionality and improvement

A box displaying the coordinates on the map has been reworked to be more user friendly and to provide a simple way of acquiring a precise location XY coordinates, latitude and longitude data, and Google's Maps and StreetView redirection, as well as the support of the What3Words service, all in a form of a simple context menu.

 

WFS hosting

Earthlight is now capable of hosting the Web Feature Service to provide the data for the external systems.

 

WFS Client

Users can now easily create a WFS layer reference via From Existing Table tool.

 

Legal Note

Users can set a legal notice message to be displayed upon loading the application for a user, group, or globally.
