This tool puts actual extent of your layer to metadata geographic fields (South Bound Latitude, North Bound Latitude, West Bound Longitude, East Bound Longitude). Usually, geographic fields are being used in the INSPIRE metadata table.

To fill your layer(s) with geographic data, please open the tool and select one or more layers in the dialog.

Then, click the 'OK' button. To display a layer metadata, please open its Layer Properties and click the 'Browse' button.

After selecting desired metadata table and tab, you should be presented with filled geographic fields.

Please note that 'Autofill geographic metadata' tool will fill all metadata fields which have proper 'Content type' set (like 'West_Bound') and are not inside 'Composite' field.
