Snapping feature in Earthlight is a feature which allows you to snap mouse cursor to selected parts of geometries from a specified layer or group of layers. To start using Snap feature, it is required to set snapping layers and desired snapping point types first.

- By 'Snap to:' checkboxes you can determine to which geometry parts, the tool will be snap.
There are 4 geometry features that could be used for snapping:
Edges - it is a geometry edge | Vertices -it is a geometry node |
End points - it can be geometry start or end point | Mid points - it is a point in the middle of an edge |
When all snapping settings are properly set, you can start using snapping feature. To start, please open context menu and select the 'Snap: ' option. When snapping is active, bolded 'Snap : On' text will be displayed in context menu.

Additional snap settings
- Snapping/tracing attraction radius (in pixels):
By adjusting this slider, you can choose how close to snapping points, you will have to move your cursor.
- Mask opacity:
Using this slider you can control transparency of layers, when the snap option is active.
